The New York Jets lost their Week 13 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons with a score of 13-8. The New York Jets produced 259 total yards of offense in comparison to the Atlanta Falcons’ 194 total yards but were unable to capitalize on scoring a touchdown. Despite starting Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian, Coach Robert Saleh’s offense remains stagnant and inefficient.
New York Jets Slay
New York Jets kicker Greg “Legatron” Zuerlein slays in Week 13, providing the Jets with 6 of their 8 total points against the Falcons. Zuerlein was perfect connecting on his 2 field goal attempts with his longest kick going for 46 yards. Zuerlein continues to perform well and remains a viable kicker for fantasy managers.
The Jets Defense unit slays in their matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 13, sacking opposing QB Desmond Ridder 3 times, DE Quentin Johnston 1.5 sacks, LB Jermaine Johnson 1.5 sacks, and limiting Atlanta’s offense to 104 passing yards and 90 total rushing yards. Despite the Jets’ disastrous offense, the defensive unit kept the game as DT competitive as Jets DT Quinnen Williams and Safety Ashtyn Davis forced a safety in the 1st quarter by overpowering their way through the Falcons’ offensive line.

Despite the low-scoring affair, Atlanta Falcons QB Desmond Ridder slays in his Week 13 matchup against Gotham City. Ridder had 12 completions on 27 pass attempts for 121 yards, 1 touchdown, and 0 interceptions. Ridder salvaged his Week 13 performance on a 20-yard touchdown pass to WR MyCole Pruitt. Ridder doesn’t usually light up the stat sheet due to Atlanta’s focus on the running game; his fantasy ceiling remains capped.

Atlanta Falcons Kicker Younghoe Koo slays in Week 13 connecting on both field goal attempts and converting on the extra point after Atlanta’s touchdown. Koo remains a solid kicker for Atlanta without missing a field goal this season. Fantasy managers should continue to start Koo with confidence.
New York Jets Bomb
New York Jets QBs Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian bombed in their Week 13 performance. Boyle had 14 completions on 25 pass attempts, 0 touchdowns, 1 interception, and 2 rushing yards on 1 attempt. Boyle was unable to build any momentum with a weak offensive line that allowed 4 sacks due to the Falcons’ defensive pressure. Trevor Siemian was also unimpressive and provided no spark completing 5 passes on 13 attempts for 66 yards.
Falcons’ rookie RB Bijan Robinson bombed in Week 13 with 53 rushing yards on 18 carries averaging 2.3 yards per rush, 3 catches for 26 reception yards, and 0 touchdowns. Robinson was held in check facing a tough Jets defense the entire afternoon. Even though Robinson is Atlanta’s lead back with plenty of volume, he has scored 3 times so far in his rookie campaign. Despite Robinson’s inconsistent performances, Atlanta’s Week 14 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers provides the rookie a great opportunity for a bounce-back game.
Falcons TE Kyle Pitts bombs in Week 13 despite producing a modest 51 yards on 3 catches. The former 1st-round pick did average an impressive 12.5 yards per catch but was otherwise unable to score against the Jets. Pitts has the talent and skill to produce elite numbers with his size and speed, but his fantasy ceiling remains capped under Atlanta’s run-heavy scheme.
Looking Ahead
The New York Jets are 4-8 after their Week 13 loss to the 1st-place Atlanta Falcons and remain in 3rd in the AFC East. Despite hopes of making the playoffs, the Jets’ chances look slim due to a lack of QB talent and failure to sign a capable 2nd option. Although veteran QB Aaron Rodgers was cleared to practice, expectations of returning this season are slim as he continues to build his strength. The Jets face Rookie of the Year candidate C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans in their Week 14 matchup, another difficult task despite having home-field advantage.
