The New York Jets Week 12 matchup against the Miami Dolphins ended with a score of 34-13. The Jets finished the game with 159 total yards of offense in comparison to the Dolphins who produced 395 total offensive yards. Despite starting Tim Boyle under center in Week 12, the New York Jets were unable to build momentum on offense behind a weak offensive line that has been a concern all season. Gotham City’s hope for a playoff spot appears slim with a 4-7 record, and the Jets face the Atlanta Falcons who are 2nd in the NFC South in their Week 13 matchup.

New York Jets Slay

Jets WR Garrett Wilson slays in Week 12 despite an underwhelming performance against the Dolphins; the lack of production is not his fault. Wilson salvaged his Friday performance by catching a 1-yard touchdown pass from Tim Boyle in the 4th quarter, his first since the New York Jets’ Week 2 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Wilson ended his afternoon with 44 yards on 7 receptions despite an inconsistent Jets offense. Unless the Gotham City offensive struggles improve, Wilson’s value remains low for fantasy managers.

Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert slays against the Jets in Week 12 with 20 rushes for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns. Mostert was tasked with a heavy workload on Friday afternoon and rewarded fantasy managers with another solid performance against the Jets in Week 12. Mostert has exceeded expectations this season with 13 rushing touchdowns and 2 passing touchdowns, he remains a top-10 back and must start in fantasy lineups for Week 13.

Tyreek Hill slays in Week 12 against the New York Jets with another impressive performance, Hill finished his day with 102 yards catching 9 of his 12 targets and 1 touchdown. Hill remains an elite player for the Dolphins as Tua’s preferred receiver with 10 touchdowns this season. Hill figures to remain busy in Week 13 against the Sam Howell and the Washington Commanders.

Miami Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle had a monster day against Gotham City in Week 12 with 114 yards on 8 catches despite not scoring a touchdown. Waddle was busy on Friday afternoon, averaging 14.2 yards per catch against a Jets suffocating Jets defense. Waddle’s fantasy stock has taken a hit with fellow wideout Tyreek Hill in the mix, but he should remain on starting lineups for Miami’s week 13 matchup against the Washington Commanders.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa slays in his Week 12 matchup against Tim Boyle and the New York Jets. Tua’s performance on Friday while completing 21 passes on 31 attempts for 243 yards and 2 interceptions adding 1 rushing yard on 2 attempts. Despite facing pressure from the Jets’ defensive lineman, Tua found his talented receivers most of the game without much issue and is poised for another high-scoring performance in Week 13 against a Commanders defensive unit that has struggled against the pass all season.

New York Jets Bomb

Jets QB Tim Boyle played well but bombed in his Week 12 debut against Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins. The 5th year QB had a modest performance completing 27 of 38 pass attempts for 179 yards, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions, and 2 rushing yards on 2 carries. The Dolphin’s defense front kept Boyle in check most of the game, but Boyle was able to connect with wideout Garrett Wilson on a 1-yard touchdown pass late in the 4th quarter despite the game being out of reach. Boyle will remain the starting QB in Week 13 and does not warrant a spot on fantasy rosters.

The Jets defense bombs in Week 12 despite their valiant effort against a high-scoring Dolphins offense. The New York Jets defensive line pressured Tua forcing him to throw 2 interceptions, one of which Jets CB Brandin Echols returned for a 30-yard touchdown to end to 1st half. DTs Solomon Thomas 0.5 sacks, and Michael Clemons 0.5 sacks made the young QB’s job difficult Friday, but they were unable to limit head coach Mike McDaniel’s explosive offensive schemes in the 2nd half.

Looking Ahead

The New York Jets face the Atlanta Falcons in their Week 13 matchup with Tim Boyle returning under center as head coach Robert Saleh stated during his post-game press conference on Friday. It’s unfair to shift the blame on Boyle for the Jets’ disappointing performances in Week 12, the offensive line is uninspiring, and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett’s offensive play calling is stagnant.

Players like WR Allen Lazard have been a disappointment after signing a 4-year $44 million contract in the offseason. Lazard’s performance on the field is an issue as stated by head coach Robert Saleh, the WR has only 10 receptions for 290 yards a 1 touchdown this season. The Jets remain in 3rd place in the AFC East and are on a 4-game losing streak after Friday’s game.
