With the NFL 2023 season over and the draft coming soon, the New York Giants draft must be perfect. For the New York Giants’ draft needs, they must fix their offensive line in the first round next season. The Giants’ offensive line was one of the worst throughout the last season and needs fixing. Another fix for the Giants is addressing their wide receiver with potential talent in the second round. The Giants could add more to help the team, even with the current receiver core. The final fix for the Giants is their quarterback situation, even with Daniel Jones under contract. New York should have a backup plan in case of cutting Jones.

New York Giants Draft Needs: The Offensive Line

A crucial fix for the New York Giants this offseason is their offensive line, which was the worst. While these fixes can be done in free agency, the draft has some quality linemen this coming draft. New York will have the sixth overall pick, so there is hope for the top offensive lineman to be there. One of the potential draftees for the Giants offensive line is Joe Alt. The scouting report in Joe Alt is astounding, with the only concern being balance, but the line is fixable. With the Giants firing, their old offensive line coach could improve the Giants’ offensive line performance next season.

The Giants should focus on the potential of getting Alt, and if he’s taken, there is a chance to get Olumuyiwa Fashanu. While Fashanu is a run blocker, he could do well in this position. The Giants will also need Fashanu at the tackle in case of injuries. Along with fixing the line, the Giants could move pieces in their current line to fit Fashanu in. The Giants have a lot of holes in the team, but they need to fix the offensive line right now. New York has the potential to fix their offensive line with these moves.

New York Giants Draft Needs: Another Wide Receiver

Another critical factor for the Giants in this upcoming draft is a wide receiver for the Giants offense. The Giants’ current receiver core could have been better in 2023, even with new talent. While that could be because of the play and other factors, the Giants need receivers this season. The Giants have two second-round picks and could pick one with those picks. One of the potential receivers in the draft could be Keon Coleman if he falls. New York’s receivers struggle to catch the ball and run routes, but this can be fixable. This year, the Giants will need to improve the offense, and adding a wide receiver could help.

New York Giants Draft Needs: A Future Star Quarterback

The last New York Giants Draft need they could address is quarterback because Daniel Jones isn’t good. While Jones has his moments of being decent, there are few of them in 2023. Even if the offensive line could protect him, Daniel Jones had poor performances in 2023. Even with signing Daniel Jones to a four-year deal, they could cut him after year two of the contract. If the Giants quarterback of the future falls in the draft, they could pick him over the offensive line. There is also the potential chance the Giants could trade up for one of the top quarterback prospects.

While there is a chance to trade up, it could be a disaster for the team if it falls apart. The Giants either need to hope that one of the top prospects falls or gamble with a project quarterback. It will be possible for them to draft a quarterback in the second or third round and develop them. New York will need a new quarterback to start over, which could be the chance to draft one. The Giants could draft Micheal Penix Jr and develop him; he could do well with the offense. While he is a raw prospect, he has the potential to be a great quarterback if they could help him.

The Giants could get Penix in the second round with one of their second-round picks for the draft. New York will need Penix to learn the game from the bench for the upcoming season if they draft him. This move could help the Giants long-term if they plan to draft a quarterback this April. New York must pick wisely for a future quarterback after Daniel Jones if they decide to move on from him.

New York Giants Draft Needs: Overview

For the New York Giants draft, they must pick wisely to fix the team for the long term. Last year’s offensive line was a disaster, so picking a lineman is a must for the team. Another possible fix for the Giants in this draft is a wide receiver in the later rounds. The fix the Giants could do in this draft is to find a replacement for Daniel Jones if they decide to move on from him. The New York Giants offseason will be intriguing for the long-term future of the team in more ways than ever.
