The Miami Dolphins ended last season with a record of 9-8, landing them the first playoff berth since 2016. This was enough momentum for any Dolphins fan to get their hopes up for what’s to come in 2023. If you’re like me, you’re already predicting what will happen in each game. Here are my predictions.

Week 1 at Los Angeles Chargers

I see this being a close game, with Miami taking the victory. Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert were the no. 5 and no.6 draft picks, which always makes it interesting when they play each other. After losing to the Chargers last December, the Dolphins will likely strategize a win.
Prediction: Win

Week 2 at New England Patriots

The Dolphins have a pretty good record against the Patriots, beating them the last four out of five times. Also, we can’t pretend like that one loss wasn’t because Tua wasn’t healthy. I see no problem with the Miami Dolphins beating the New England Patriots.
Prediction: Win

Week 3 vs. Denver Broncos

Miami has the upper hand here because of Vic Fangio’s previous time with the Broncos. It also is a little interesting because Miami’s LB Bradley Chubb will play his former team for the first time. I know that Broncos fans are hopeful for the new HC, Sean Payton. However, I don’t see it being enough to bring the Broncos up to Miami’s level. Or at least not in the first year.
Prediction: Win

Week 4 at Buffalo Bills

I say that this will be a close game. The last two meetings between the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills were close calls, so I expect this to be no different. Miami hasn’t beaten the Bills in Buffalo since 2016. This game is one that I’m really excited about.
Prediction: Loss

Week 5 vs. New York Giants

Simply put, the Dolphins are just better than the Giants. Brian Daboll has the Giants on the up, but not high enough to beat Miami. I think that it will be hard for the Giants in the Miami heat, though I expect some surprises from the Giants.
Prediction: Win

Week 6 vs. Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young, while good, is fresh to the NFL. This is just one reason that the Dolphins should easily pull a win off here. Young will have his work cut out for him as he plays against another former Alabama quarterback. Unless something goes haywire, I don’t imagine this being an issue for the Miami Dolphins.
Prediction: Win

Week 7 at Philadelphia Eagles

This will be the one to watch. Who doesn’t want to watch Tua Tagovailoa play against Jalen Hurts? Be for real. The first downfall for the Dolphins is that they have to travel to the Eagles. The second is that the Eagles are just that good. They have what they need on both sides. If Miami pulled off a win here, it would be HUGE. I don’t think they’ll get totally smashed or anything, but it’ll be hard for them to walk away victorious.
Prediction: Loss

Week 8 vs. New England Patriots

Again, the Patriots shouldn’t be a problem. I highly doubt they will defeat Miami either time. Plus, this time, Miami will be at home. I think that the Patriots will have more of an established system by this time. Other than it being a better game to watch than it was earlier in the season, I don’t see a Miami Dolphins upset here.
Prediction: Win

Week 9 at Kansas City Chiefs (Germany)

The fact that this is played internationally and not at Kansas City could prove useful to the Miami Dolphins. I imagine this will be a close game, but it will be tough for the Dolphins to defeat the Chiefs. It’s possible with the hype surrounding the Tyreek Hill trade, but I think the Chiefs will still win.
Prediction: Loss

Week 10 BYE

Week 11 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders don’t have the offensive line that they need to keep up with Miami. Josh McDaniels has a lot on the line, and it doesn’t help him here that Mike McDaniel knows the ins and outs of Jimmy Garoppolo. It isn’t looking good for the Raiders in week 11.
Prediction: Win

Week 12 at New York Jets

I guess we have to address Aaron Rodgers. That’s it. Happy Black Friday. The Dolphins lose.
Prediction: Loss

Week 13 at Washington Commanders

While the Commanders have a decent defensive line, other aspects of their roster aren’t up to par, this shouldn’t be difficult for the Miami Dolphins.
Prediction: Win

Week 14 vs. Tennessee Titans (Monday Night Football)

I’m a little disappointed in this matchup, but what do I know? The Titans are transitioning, giving Miami more of an upper hand. There are too many variables to predict the Titans doing a whole lot of damage. Miami better not embarrass me on this one, or I’ll dirty delete.
Prediction: Win

Week 15 vs. New York Jets

The Dolphins desperately want the playoffs here. I think it’ll be almost enough to push Miami into the win. The rest of the push will come from the predicted previous loss to the Jets a few weeks before. Miami will have analyzed the previous game and will come back with an effective plan.
Prediction: Win

Week 16 vs. Dallas Cowboys

Jump scare! I’m kidding, but really. Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence will be a couple of tough cookies. Also, as much as I want Tua to trump Dak Prescott, I don’t think it will happen. This will be one of Miami’s most difficult matchups.
Prediction: Loss

Week 17 at Baltimore Ravens

Miami’s last game against the Ravens in September of 2022 was a wild one, with the Dolphins coming back after being down 21 points. This will be a great game, but one that ends in victory for the Miami Dolphins (again).
Prediction: Win

Week 18 vs. Buffalo Bills

What a nail-biter. The outcome of this game will be a result of whatever injuries occur throughout the season, and I am scared. This game will go to whoever has the most momentum and drive to kick it into the highest gear. I think this game will be super close, but I’m anticipating a Miami Dolphins victory. Call me delusional if you want, but I’m feeling a win here.
Prediction: Win

Final Record: (12-5)
