Who is Elijah Green?

2024 ATH Elijah Green is one of the top talents in the state of Oklahoma, listed as the number six player in the state by Rivals.com. He stands in at 6-2, 184-pounds, and is extremely athletic. He is a state-champion track runner, with a PR of 48.72 seconds in the 400m race. On top of being a great athlete, Elijah has been described by C4 Sports’s Sean Cooper as “one of the most positive, happiest kids [C4 Sports] has ever had,” and that he possesses “next level potential.”

“He’s never missed a practice at 7-on-7. He’s reliable. He just came in on day one like he had grew up with these kids all along.”

What Does Elijah’s Recruitment Look Like?

Elijah Green currently holds offers from Texas Tech, Missouri, Tulsa, and more. The Tulsa offer means a lot to him, which isn’t surprising considering that they are the only in-state school to extend an offer up to this point.

“[The Tulsa offer] holds a lot of weight because it’s at home. Staying at home is the best option, it’s a great idea because the family and all that. It means a lot to me. I really like how it’s from the house, so it plays a big part in where I’m going.” – Elijah Green

Texas Tech is another school that is heavily in the mix for Green, and in my opinion, they are probably the leader in the clubhouse to this point. Green has been to Lubbock several times, and the Red Raiders have left a fantastic impression on Green. “The atmosphere (in Lubbock) is great. It was very amazing and alive. I love what Joey McGuire has going on down there, and I love how he’s turned [Texas Tech] around.” Green was impressed by several things, but what stood out the most was the relationships that the coaches are building with recruits and players.

Elijah informed me that Texas Tech is the school that he talks to the most at this point in the cycle. “They reach out a lot, so I make sure to get back to them because our connection is really there.”

How Does Elijah Fit in?

Elijah Green plays both defensive back and wide receiver for Classen. Although he is a talented wideout, many project that Green will play on the defensive side of the ball. He’s a raw, but athletic prospect with plenty of length and a nose for the football. While watching his tape, you’ll constantly see him go up and snatch the ball out of the air in contested areas. When asked about what type of player Elijah Green is, C4’s Sean Cooper stated, “[Elijah] is a guy that can go make plays on the ball, be around the ball, and always find the ball. I think ultimately you’re going to look up, and he’s going to potentially be an SEC guy that makes plays. He has next level potential that you’ll see in April in about four years.”

Elijah hasn’t taken any official visits yet, but he plans to take trips to Texas Tech, Missouri, and Tulsa down the line. We’ll see what other schools decide to pursue him as the off-season rolls on, but as of now, these three schools seem to have separated themselves from the others.
