As the offseason progresses, there are still some free agents on the market who could help out the Green Bay Packers and further bolster their roster. Here’s a look at some potential free agents the Green Bay Packers should look into signing for the 2023-24 season.

QB Teddy Bridgewater

Coming into the 2023-24 season, the Green Bay Packers are entering the season with a new quarterback at the helm. While they are set to move on to Jordan Love, the depth and experience behind him lack. Their roster currently has three total quarterbacks on the roster: Jordan Love, Sean Clifford, and Danny Etling. Their combined years as a starter are pretty lackluster, which is zero.

A veteran quarterback is a great presence to have in the locker room, and Bridgewater has experience both as a starter and a backup. He’s coming off a year where he backed up Tua Tagovailoa in Miami and could serve as a mentor for Jordan Love in Green Bay.

“Teddy Two Gloves” remains one of the better veterans on the market and one of the most qualified. He’s coming off a season where he threw for 683 yards to go with 4 TDs and INTs. Bridgewater’s history may be injury prone and may not be eye-popping, but he’s shown he can win games and compete. If the price is right, the Packers should take the opportunity and sign someone who can immediately fill in at QB.

WR Jarvis Landry

A reoccurring issue the Green Bay Packers have in the QB room also falls into the WR core as well. The Packers have a very young WR room coming into the season, with their top two pass catchers being second-year players. This core is led by Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, who both look to improve off of rookie seasons where each flashed potential. The problem is behind them; there isn’t much experience, with mostly rookies and second-year players filling in the depth.

Insert veteran and 30-year-old WR Jarvis Landry. Landry dealt with some injuries last season in NOLA and could be looking for a team to rejuvenate his career. He did make the Pro Bowl from 2015-2019, so it’s been a while since he’s been in that form. This would be a great opportunity to mentor young WRs while also getting snaps and showing he can still be a key contributor.

He only played in nine games last season while starting three of them. A fresh start in Green Bay could bode well for the veteran receiver as he would immediately take on a mentorship role while being a key player for such a young offense. A one-year, prove-it deal wouldn’t hurt the Green Bay Packers.

EDGE Melvin Ingram

Edge rusher is a premium position in the NFL which means you can never get enough production from the position. The Packers just used their first-round pick on edge rusher Lukas Van Ness and have Rashan Gary and Preston Smith on some healthy deals. The reality is that Van Ness may take a while to flash, Gary is coming off a major injury, and Smith can’t do it alone.

Melvin Ingram is coming off a year in Miami, where he recorded six sacks, 22 total tackles, and one forced fumble. Ingram, who’s 34 years old, may not be in his prime playing days, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be productive and help out some young edge rushers.

Any help Van Ness can get would be very beneficial for the Green Bay Packers and their future. If Ingram can produce, it would benefit Green Bay right now and could help out the defense immensely. The Packers like to rotate their edge rushers, and with Gary continuing to rehab, Melvin Ingram would be a great addition to that rotation. If there is a mutual interest, a one-year deal could benefit both parties.
