For way too much of the game, there was only a seven-point difference in the score between the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals. It didn’t feel as comfortable a win as it should have been considering our competition.

DK Metcalf was out this week. That is likely the reason we saw so much activity from other wide receivers like Jake Bobo and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. They used their opportunity to show what they could do well. It made what was a bit of a dry game far more entertaining. We have some real weapons!

Seattle Seahawks Slayers

#1- Jaxon Smith-Njigba

With Metcalf out, Smith-Njigba showed out. He was targeted seven times by Geno Smith, for a total of 63 yards. The rookie Seattle Seahawk also got a TD—the first one of the game. Talk about a moral boost for Jaxon, the team, and the fans.

#2- Darrell Taylor

Dobbs was eating the turf every other second today. Darrell Taylor contributed to the sack number with 1.5. Those are his first sacks this season. The defense’s hard work cannot be emphasized enough, and Taylor contributed to it extensively in week 7.

#3- Kenneth Walker III

For the first time this season, Kenneth made over 100 rushing yards in a game. Walker is consistently good, and that is why he is so often in the slaying category. He’s one of the biggest offensive weapons for the Seattle Seahawks.

Bombs

#1- The Officiating Team

Pete Carroll had his challenge flags ready, and he had no hesitation in throwing them.

The Seattle Seahawks head coach threw them twice. And each time, he won.

The first time was during the first quarter when he challenged the completion of a 3rd down pass to running back Emari Demercado. If there’s anything Carroll knows how to do, it’s when to throw the flag. He won; the pass was ruled incomplete!

Carroll threw the flag again in the second quarter of the game when Jake Bobo was ruled out of bounds on a touchdown pass. That was also in the Hawks’ favor—seven points, baby!

#2- Unfriendly fire

Things got excitingly spicy in the second quarter of the game. Boye Mafe got a roughing the passer penalty that was trash. The result of the penalty was the reversal of a pick-6 the Seattle Seahawks had made.

Tempers were flaring, and things got physical between Hawks Jordyn Brooks and Cardinals DJ Humphries. Brooks made contact with Humphries, and in an attempt to get him back, the OL got the referee instead.

While DJ Humphries did the thing we all wish we could do, it’s still against the rules. DJ was ejected from the game due to the unfortunate incident, and it was a lose-lose all around.

#3- Geno Smith

Two interceptions again, Geno…

Seattle Seahawks Summary

We’re 4-2, second in the division. A solid performance each and every week.

In week 8, the Hawks face off against the Cleveland Browns at Lumen Field. If the Massage Monster was still out with his injury, the Browns may have had a chance to win, but it sounds like Watson will be back for week 8. With human decency on our side, we got week 8 in the bag.

For all my fellow 90s babies, the Seattle Seahawks will be rocking their blast from the past 1990s look next week!

For Hawks fans who still love Russell Wilson like me, how great was it to see Russell Wilson win against the Green Bay Packers? Any week that the Seahawks and Broncos win is a great week, especially when it’s almost the same time of the day. Eat the cheese, Packers!
