This week felt like one moral victory after another for the Seattle Seahawks. We didn’t win again, but we only lost against one of the best teams in the league by only 12 points. That’s with it being an away game in San Francisco 49ers territory and our backup quarterback starting.

And the LA Rams lost, which is always a mood booster.

Week 14 Seattle Seahawks Slay

Call me optimistic – but I don’t react strongly to one-time incidents, and I love to acknowledge the moral wins even when the game counts as a loss.

#1 Slay – DK Metcalf

Honorary words go to Tyler Lockett and JSN. They had strong performances in Week 14.

But man, was DK Metcalf’s catch beautiful! He caught two out of his five targets for a total of 51 yards. His 31-yard TD was a chef’s kiss of greatness.

Metcalf hasn’t always gotten the opportunity to show off his greatness with Geno Smith‘s seeming inability to throw passes to him. It’s great to see him look more like himself.

#2 – Drew Lock

People had a lot of negativity towards Drew Lock after his performance this week. It was 1,000 times better than what I was expecting. Considering every other time he’s played this season, he looks like he gave up before the ball was even snapped. Doom and gloom followed behind him with every step he took. So I was expecting an entire game of pure sadness.

But instead, he did okay. Not good, not great, but okay. And that’s more than what I had hoped. Especially against the 49ers. The Seattle Seahawks were the bird on the NFL’s Thanksgiving table on Thanksgiving night against the same team. We stayed competitive for the majority of the game, and some of that is thanks to Drew not choking. He was a strong second string against an insanely strong team.

Stats-wise, he had two touchdowns and made 22 out of 31 attempts for 269 yards. Not bad for being a rusty second-string QB.

#3 Slay – Julian Love

Two turnovers. Two. It was incredible. A forced fumble and an interception. Seven tackles overall.

Love has made 90 tackles this year, the third-highest on the team for the season.

Julian Love is a wonderful addition to the team.

Week 14 Bombs

Yes. It’s the same name(s) twice. But it’ll make perfect sense when you read it.

#1 DK Metcalf

As much as I love a skirmish, I at least have to be convincingly disapproving of Metcalf’s lack of impulse control. He is a dramatic hothead who has and will continue to get himself and his teammates in trouble on the gridiron, and hopefully never off.

Did I hate seeing DK Metcalf grab Fred Warner by the face mask and try an MMA move on the gridiron? No, I mean yes. Don’t fight at school, kids.

#2 Bomb – Drew Lock

Remember those two interceptions…

That, and he made some obvious rookie mistakes that read very second-string QB. Overall, though, a solid B- for slightly above average.

#3 Bomb – Julian Love

George Kittle embarrassed Julian Love on national TV. It was hard to watch. But you can’t have everything, and Julian gave us more than enough in Week 14.

Seattle Seahawks Summary

It would be nice if we could catch a break next week after playing two of the best teams in the NFC. Instead, we are playing another – the Philadelphia Eagles.

We did do incredibly well against the Cowboys last week, and Dallas made Philadelphia look like a bad JV team on Sunday Night Football. Maybe it’s the Seattle Seahawks turn next?

For all the realest fans out there who are Seattle Seahawks fans and Russell Wilson fans – isn’t it great to see Russ cook? He’s making a food bank worth of food for everyone. Wilson has really turned the tide over there. It feels almost as good as the Rams losing. Almost.

Do you think we still have a shot at the 6th or 7th seed (after another loss)? Sound off below! And don’t forget to catch all of our Seattle Seahawks content here.
