The Seahawks have been consistent slayers since Week 1. Call us the Seattle Slayers because we are in this thing.

The Slay In Slay and Bomb For Week 4

#1- Devon Witherspoon

Witherspoon is taking the NFL by storm after the rookie had his breakout game in Week 4 of his rookie season. Not that he hasn’t been great since he touched the turf at the beginning of the 2023 season. He was just nominating himself for Rookie of the Year this time.

It wasn’t just Witherspoon’s two sacks. Although, in a game where Daniel Jones was down more than he was up, those two were prominent.

The cornerback also got his first return interception. A 97-yard touchdown. Glorious.

#2-Kenneth Walker III (again)

Kenneth is out there giving us his all each and every week. He got us a TD and an overly exciting early TD that was reversed when he rolled effortlessly over his opponent, barely touching the grass with his body. It seems debatable whether he actually touched the ground, but that’s a topic for another day. Either way, it was a great start to the game.

#3- Geno Smith and His Juice

My heart jumped into my throat when I saw Geno Smith limp. He has been nearly infallible and tougher than cleaning the grease stains on my stove. But lo, a messy tackle put him in jeopardy. Smith was more mad about it than anyone else; he won us a penalty for sharing words with the terrible tackler. It’s understandable, though, and frankly, in one of the chippiest games in some time, it was almost expected.

We all held our breath in collective terror when we saw the limp. A few minutes of Drew Lock before the half was over? Torture. “Thankfully,” he got the same “juice” that Mahomes got in his ankle last season during halftime, and Geno was back to his former glory, leading the team to victory with no sign of an injury. No one should call this man into question again.

All The Bombs In Week 4

#1- Drew Lock

Drew Lock is like a bad dream. You can almost always forget he’s there on the sidelines, but when he comes out to play, you get the cold sweats.

You try to wake up, but you can’t seem to get him off the screen. You go from Trader Joe’s to K-Mart in a matter of moments, and you toss and turn on your pillow because this can’t be life.

Of course, you try to pretend it was all in your imagination and shake off any remnant of the memory of seeing him on the gridiron. Hopefully, there will be no repeat performance.

week 4

Seahawks QB Geno Smith (7) – WFRV News

If Pete Carroll and the Seahawks staff wouldn’t mind taking note of this and finding us a more suitable backup QB, that would be great. We don’t need to see that nightmare of a situation anymore to know Lock is third-string at best.

Smith, you got your one injury for the season this week. That can’t happen again. But if it does, I would rather see DK or Lockett out there throwing the ball, and that’s the honest truth.

#1- Jason Myers (again)

Jason Myers missed a critical kick AGAIN.

Granted, it wasn’t as bad as some of his kicks when we needed him the most, and the win is in his hands. But it reminded me of week 2, and I didn’t need that.

#3- Seahawk Fans Giving Jamal Adams Grief

Jamal Adams has been giving us his heart, mind, and soul since he came to Seattle in 2020. This has led to injuries—that happens. He got a knee to the head and has a concussion. He will be out for a week, two tops. He isn’t significantly injured, and he will be back out on the gridiron before we know it.

Adams was literally shouting at the independent neurologist who made the call that he couldn’t return to the game. Not that the doctor had a choice, but Jamal isn’t trying to hear that. He wants to be out on the field for us; this much is clear.

However, he was wobbly on his feet, getting up. Since Tua’s “back problems” last year, anyone who is a little unstable balance-wise has to enter into the concussion protocol. This is for the best. Fans giving him grief because he experienced brain trauma? Dog water ethics.

All Wishes Can Come True In Week 4

As a Seattle Seahawks fan who still hearts Russell Wilson, it has been my dream since the beginning of the season that one week Seattle and Denver would win in the same week. In week 4, my dream has come true.

In an exhilarating comeback, Russell Wilson guided his team to victory. And Sean Payton cut his sleeves off—the game we all wanted and needed.

It felt like the Giants were going to fall to the Hawks, and they did to the point that it was painful to watch. And Pete Carroll wasn’t chewing gum. The game we needed but not quite how we wanted it. 3-1, Seattle! Heading into the stupidest bye week ever scheduled.
