The Baltimore Ravens have bolstered their defense with two veterans that will continue to add strength to an already strong defense with Ronald Darby and Jadeveon Clowney for the season.

Darby signed a one-year $3.2 million deal with the Ravens two days after Marlon Humphrey received foot surgery on an undisclosed injury.

Darby is coming off a season that ended prematurely due to an ACL tear he suffered while with the Denver Broncos.

Darby does have championship experience as he was a part of the 2017 Philadelphia Eagles team that won Super Bowl 52 against the New England Patriots.

Adding Darby gives the defense an excellent championship-experienced veteran patrolling the backfield against opposing wide receivers.

He will reunite with former Eagles teammate Nelson Agholor who he played with for three seasons from 2017 until 2019, when Darby signed with Washington in 2020.

Darby had 67 tackles, nine pass deflections, and one forced fumble during his two seasons in the Mile High City.

Darby isn’t the only veteran joining the Ravens, as they have signed Jadeveon Clowney to a one-year $2.5 million deal.

Clowney most recently was a part of the Raven’s AFC North rival Cleveland Browns for two seasons, where he notched 65 tackles, 11 sacks, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

The Clowney signing is very exciting, as he garners similar accolades to Justin Houston.  Both Houston and Clowney have made multiple Pro Bowls in their career and were named All-Pros- first-team All-Pro (Houston 2014) and second-team All-Pro (Clowney 2016).

Clowney is a few years younger than Houston but will bring steady reliability and a veteran presence on the edge against opposing offenses.

The defensive front will make this an exciting season to watch, with strong veteran talent leading one of the best defenses in the league.

Baltimore concludes the preseason on August 26 at Raymond James Stadium against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 7:00 pm ET on WBAL and then begins the regular season on September 10 against the Houston Texans at 1:00 pm ET on CBS.
