Green Bay Packers Resign Keisean Nixon

Nixon’s numbers were ridiculous especially when you realize that he did not become the full-time returner until midway through the season. He returned 35 kickoffs for 1,009 yards and one touchdown and 11 punts for 140 yards. The stats were highlighted by a 105-yard touchdown return in week 17 against the Vikings. The season earned him first-team All-Pro honors as a returner. He revitalized the special teams that had struggled for years.

Struggling Special Teams For Years

The Packers have had subpar special teams for years. It had become a running joke in the Green Bay community. Special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia was a huge hire and a big reason why Nixon had such a great season. Now, fans can have some optimism going into next season in terms of special teams. Nixon will be returning punts and kicks which will cause teams to have to be solid on their return coverage. Giving the offense an extra 10-15 yards every return is huge and cannot be understated.

The Packers have many questions but for once in a long time, the special teams will not be one of them. Fans have been ecstatic to have Nixon back in the fold for the 2023 season.
