NFL free agency is about to kick off. Outside of the top free agents, one of the most intriguing players is wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. After months of speculation on which team he would join last year, he did not sign any contracts. He is still looking to play football in 2023. Here are three potential landing spots for Odell Beckham Jr.

Potential Landing Spots For Odell Beckham Jr.

For this discussion, I want to take out the question of whether teams should sign Beckham Jr. Obviously signing a player who has been out of football for over a year is risky. The risk is compiled when said player is coming off of a torn ACL. There’s obviously a risk but the upside of Beckham Jr. is too great for some teams to pass up. There are many teams that could use some wide receiver help.

The Cowboys signed Michael Gallup in hopes he would become a true WR2. Coming off of his own ACL injury, Gallup has struggled to produce. The Cowboys need another receiver to put opposite CeeDee Lamb. Beckham Jr. would be a perfect fit. He would be able to draw some of the coverage to give Lamb more opportunities while also being a true threat in the passing game. Owner Jerry Jones is never afraid of trying to make a big splash in free agency. With how wide-open the NFC could be this year, Jones might try to go all-in with some big signings with Beckham Jr. being one of them.

Chicago Bears

The Bears need wide receiver help. Signing Odell Beckham Jr. would immediately make him WR1 on the team. Chicago needs to sign wide receiver talent to get a fair evaluation of Justin Fields. His passing numbers have not been great but it’s hard to evaluate when Darnell Mooney is your top wideout. A receiving corp of Beckham Jr., Chase Claypool, and Mooney is a pretty nice group. Would Beckham Jr. want to go to Chicago? Here’s the kicker. The Bears have a lot of cap space and could easily overpay for a player like Beckham Jr. If he wants to chase the money, Chicago could be one of the top landing spots for Odell Beckham Jr.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are desperate to win a Super Bowl now. They are already one of the top teams in the AFC and will be looking to make whatever moves possible to reach the summit of the mountain. Gabe Davis struggled in the WR2 position last year and the Bills are going to look to upgrade that position. Beckham Jr. would be a perfect fit next to Stefon Diggs. Davis would move back to the WR3 spot where he could be more dangerous. If Beckham Jr. does not sign in the offseason, I expect a lot of contenders to be calling later in the year and it wouldn’t surprise me if Buffalo is one of them.

These are three potential landing spots for Odell Beckham Jr. It is a huge risk to sign him but the potential upside will be too tantalizing for a team to pass up.
