The Giants could enhance the depth by signing defensive pieces, especially in safety. New York could also help the defense by getting another defensive end. The Giants also need help with running back, with Saquon Barkley not signing the franchise tag. New York could add a running back before the season. New York is in a good state and could add more to improve the team.

New York has problems with the positions they need in this free agency and could improve in these areas. While the secondary is good is still young and could use some veteran presence, especially in safety. While McKinney; is amazing could suffer from injuries, so it will be nice to have a backup option. Along with the defensive secondary for the team, New York could add depth to the defensive end in 2023. If possible, the Giants could add an old veteran that the team is familiar with the history of the franchise. With the defense potentially fixed, the New York Giants have a problem with Saquon Barkley and could use a veteran if all things go wrong with Barkley.

For the New York Giants to be better on defense, they need to improve on the secondary. New York has a decent passing defense, being ranked 12th in pass coverage but it needs strong safety. The Giants’ past safety Julian Love signed with the Seahawks, leaving a hole in safety for the team. New York, with their salary cap, could sign free agent John Johnson, who was cut by the Cleveland Browns. The Giants could use Johnson as a depth piece for strong safety; or forward safety in case of injury. John Johnson, after a rough season, could also get reps and do well to earn another contract. New York could improve the secondary with Johnson for the NFL season.

The Giants, with an improved defensive secondary, New York could focus on getting an old friend in Jason Pierre-Paul. Pierre-Paul could fill a need by being a mentor to the younger defensive players and a backup defensive end. Signing the former Giant could fill a backup for a defensive end in case of injuries. Pierre-Paul, former Super Bowl winner with the Giants back in 2011 while fan service, would be great to see. Pierre-Paul could work with a minimum deal, saving cap room for the Giants this season and a nice ending. While not in his prime, Pierre-Paul, about to be 34, could help the team in 2023. New York could help their former player be a winner.

This offseason, the Giants have done a decent job improving the team’s needs for the upcoming season. New York has done well in singing help for the linebacker position by getting Bobby Okereke. Bobby Okereke, who played for the Colts, is a good defensive player and could do well in the Giants’ defensive scheme. The Giants could get the best out of Okereke with the system, which will benefit the team greatly. New York has also improved their offense by signing Parris Campbell. Last season, Parris Campbell had done well with the Colts with three touchdowns with around 600 yards. While the additions could help the Giants be better in 2023, they need more.
New York would also need a backup plan in case Saquon Barkley doesn’t come back and bring in Kareem Hunt for the run game. The New York Giants are doing well, and bringing in these free agents could help the team win.

New York is in a good state right now; these three free agents could help the team in 2023. If the Giants’ recent signings do well, the team could be well off for the upcoming season. New York could improve their safety depth by bringing John Johnson III, if possible, to improve the secondary. Along with improving the secondary, the Giants should bring back Jason Pierre-Paul for a potential one-last run with the team before retirement. New York would also need a backup plan in case Saquon Barkley doesn’t come back and bring in Kareem Hunt for the run game. The New York Giants are doing well, and bringing in these free agents could help the team win.
