There are still quite a few great players in the free agency that could make a positive impact on the Miami Dolphins. At a cap space of $13,904,327, there is room to make some good moves. Some of Miami’s recent signs include LB David Long Jr., CB Jalen Ramsey, and WR Braxton Berrios.

Here are three of the many free agents that I think could be considered by the Dolphins.

1. Cameron Brate – Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE

The Miami Dolphins could use a TE, and while there are various options, Brate could be considered one of the best in the free agency. He caught 273 passes for 2,857 yards with 33 touchdowns throughout his NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brate is a nine-year veteran and a solid option to fill Miami’s TE gap. He’s consistently good at blocking and could help bulk up the tight end group. I’m not saying that every year was perfect, but I consider his overall performance efficient.

Brate is a reliable, consistent player that could easily fit in with the Miami Dolphins and I’m a little surprised that he is still a free agent. I know that a TE isn’t necessarily the most urgent matter, but it would be a wise decision to look into adding one to the team.

2. Kenyan Drake– Baltimore Ravens RB

Miami’s search for a running back brings a lot to consider. Kenyan Drake started his NFL career with the Dolphins in 2016. He played for them until 2019, accumulating 1,532 rushing yards for nine touchdowns and 936 receiving yards for six scores. Drake most recently played for the Baltimore Ravens, totaling 482 yards, four touchdowns, and 17 caught passes for 89 yards with one score. He finished third in team rushing yards and tied for the highest total touchdowns, and Drake’s seven NFL seasons totaled 5,490 yards from scrimmage and 41 touchdowns.

Drake has been tossed among the Miami Dolphins, the Arizona Cardinals, the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Baltimore Ravens. Maybe he could come back to Miami and settle back in. I find it to be a possibility.

3. Chris Wormley – Pittsburgh Steelers DL

Chris Wormley is a free agent coming off of a two-year contract with the Steelers. He sustained an ACL tear last December, forcing him to miss the rest of the season.  In Wormley’s six seasons, he had 142 tackles, 14 stops for loss, 11 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 80 total games with the Ravens and the Steelers.

I know it seems questionable for Miami to pick up Wormley due to his injury, though the six-year NFL player could be a solid choice if he can come back healthy. It wouldn’t be totally out there for the Steelers to pick him back up when his health is cleared, but it also wouldn’t be shocking if they moved on. I’m leaning more towards them looking at other options. I feel like Wormley may be looking for a new start just as much as the Steelers are looking for depth along the defensive line.

While I do think free agent Dalvin Cook is a possible Miami Dolphins target, I decided to look into other options. He’s been in all of the free agency conversations lately, and most of us are wondering where he will end up.

I also know that Miami is in need of a starting offensive tackle. There are a handful of available right tackles in the free agency, but I don’t have a strong idea of what will happen there.
