The Giants could also cut one of their defensive stars if they could find another star. New York could also cut an expensive contract if one of the rookie defensive linemen stands out. Training camp can be brutal, and there will be surprise cuts for the New York Giants.

New York would need the space in these positions for their final roster in 2023. Training camp will be the final destination for some players to prove themselves to the team. The New York Giants, during this training camp season, could cut Daniel Bellinger if he doesn’t perform well. New York drafted Bellinger last year to fill in the tight end position, which he did well. Daniel Bellinger, a fifth-round pick for the Giants in 2022, had a 200-yard season with two touchdowns. Bellinger also had a touchdown in the wild-card win over the Minnesota Vikings. Even with the decent season, the Giants feel the position could be better by trading for Darren Waller this offseason. While they can keep both tight ends in their offensive system, the Giants could cut bait with Bellinger after camp. The Giants, if Waller is healthy, could have Bellinger as a potential surprise cut.

The New York Giants could also surprise fans by cutting Jamison Crowder after signing him this offseason. New York will need wide receivers this year for Daniel Jones by drafting Jalin Hyatt and signing Parris Campbell. The Giants use the training camp to thin out the weaker receiver room for this upcoming year. Jamison Crowder, who is a good depth receiver, can be cut with ease in the final 53 roster deadline. While the move could be harsh and surprising for fans, it could save cap space for next year. The move will save around a million dollars for the team if he doesn’t perform well. It could also save fans some frustrations if Crowder struggles in camp this season.

New York, if any of the rookie linebackers from the 90-man minicamp in July. If possible, the New York Giants, while Williams is a solid veteran and fan favorite, could be cut. The biggest surprise cut by the New York Giants could be Lenord Williams due to the contract cap. New York could save 21 million dollars if everything goes wrong with Williams due to age and the contract he has for the Giants. While this move is controversial and shocking to fans, it could be the right move.
